Outlook Express Configuration

The following instructions are to help you with the configuration of Outlook Express:

  • Launch Outlook Express
  • To add the new ASKI.CA account select TOOLS, then select ACCOUNTS.
  • NOTE: Delete any existing email accounts, by highlighting and clicking REMOVE.



  • When the Internet Accounts box appears, select the MAIL tab
  • Click the ADD button, and select MAIL
  • This launches a set up wizard.


  • Enter a display name (i.e. First and Last Name), press NEXT.

  • Enter your aski.ca e-mail address
  • Click NEXT


  • Select POP3 (aski.ca supports IMAP as well) from the drop down menu.
  • Enter mail.aski.ca for the incoming and for the outgoing mail servers.
  • Click NEXT

  • Enter your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS as your account name.
  • Enter your password, you may place a checkmark on remember password and enter your password.
  • Do not mark Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
  • Click NEXT



  • Click FINISH to create the mail account.
  • You will be returned to the mail account window.



  • Your new aski.ca account will now appear as mail.aski.ca.
  • Highlight mail.aski.ca, and click on properties.

  • Click on the SERVERS tab
  • My incoming mail server should be set to POP3 or IMAP
  • In order to send mail through our server, you will need to check the option for "My server requires authentication" under the Outgoing Mail Server
  • Click APPLY, then click OK
